This medium-sized, hot-growing epiphyte or terrestrial orchid is found in Sabah, Sarawak, and Kalimantan Borneo at elevations of 50 to 400 meters in lowland mixed forests. It has cylindrical to fusiform pseudobulbs spaced 1.75 to 2.5 cm apart, each with two narrowly elliptic, thin, plicate leaves on a petiolate base. Blooming in summer, it produces 2 to 3 flowers on a 23.5 cm erect to arcuate, slender inflorescence with a fractiflex rachis and deciduous floral bracts, with flowers opening simultaneously.
