Coelogyne rochusenii

This orchid is found in Malaysia, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, and the Philippines, growing as a medium-sized epiphyte or occasional lithophyte in lowlands up to 1500 meters, often on trees near rivers. It has cylindric, furrowed pseudobulbs with two oblanceolate to obovate leaves. Blooming in winter, it produces a 45 cm long, pendulous inflorescence with up to 40 fragrant, lemon-scented flowers that open simultaneously. The flowers semi-close at night and reopen in the morning with sunlight.
