Coelogyne viscosa

This orchid is found in northeastern India, Myanmar, southern China, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia at elevations of 700 to 1500 meters in evergreen and montane forests. It is a medium-sized, warm-growing epiphyte or lithophyte with clustered, grooved, glossy pseudobulbs and two lanceolate, plicate leaves. Blooming in winter, it produces a slender, 10 to 15 cm long, erect inflorescence with 2 to 4 simultaneously opening, fragrant flowers, emerging from a newly developing pseudobulb and having deciduous floral bracts.
