This small orchid is found in Southeast Asia’s lowland and montane forests at elevations up to 1200 meters. It grows as a hot to cool epiphyte, needing shade, high humidity, and moisture from spring to autumn. Its clustered stems bear 10 to 14 overlapping, fleshy leaves. Blooming in fall, it produces a short, 1-inch inflorescence from the apex of leafy or leafless stems, carrying 1 to 2 fleshy flowers.
