Dendrobium cretaceum

This small orchid grows in open forests across South and Southeast Asia at elevations of 700 to 1800 meters. It thrives as a warm to cool growing epiphyte with 15 to 30 cm long, pendant, ridged pseudobulbs that are whitish with purple stripes. It has six leathery, deciduous leaves. Blooming in late winter and spring, it produces fragrant, primrose-scented, long-lasting flowers from nodes on both leafed and leafless stems, with each inflorescence carrying a single flower.
