Dendrobium laevifolium

This mini-miniature warm to cold-growing epiphyte is found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Santa Cruz Islands, and Vanuatu at elevations of 650 to 2400 meters. It grows on moss-covered trees with club-shaped or tapered stems carrying two deciduous linear leaves. Blooming in summer, it produces a very short, axillary inflorescence with one to a few flowers emerging from the nodes at the apex of its leafless stems.
