This medium to large cool-growing epiphyte is found in Sabah, Borneo, in lower montane semi-mossy forests at elevations of 1600 to 1900 meters. It has a persistent leafy stem with distichous, coriaceous, oblong-ligulate, slightly curved leaves. Blooming in late winter and early spring, it produces sessile, single-flowered inflorescences with minute floral bracts. The flowers are fragrant, resembling overripe fruit, long-lasting, and non-resupinate.
