This small, hot to cool growing epiphyte is found in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, and Sumatra at elevations from sea level to 1800 meters in dense lowland and lower montane forests. It has slender, elongated, occasionally branched stems that become warty with age, carrying many hooked, narrowly linear leaves. Blooming in late spring, it produces short, successively single-flowered inflorescences on mature canes near the apex, with short-lived, fragrant flowers.
